LineUp - LineUp Tab
The Lineup tab is where you designate who is playing which position.
How to add players to Lineup positions
- The list on the left side of the screen shows the players available for this week's
match. The number after the player's name indicates how many times he/she has played
so far this season.
- Find a player you want to add to your lineup this week in the list on the left.
- Click and drag his/her name into the box for the position you want them to play.
Or, you can double-click on the player's name and the name will be entered into the first
available box.
- Repeat steps 2 through 3 until your lineup is complete.
- Click Save
What about the Match Times?
The Match Times should be filled in (although it is optional) since they will print on
the Lineup report. Just type in the time of the match, such as 9:00.
Click Save when you're done entering times.
How to Confirm / Remove players from the Lineup
- Click on the X next to the name of the player you wish to remove from the lineup.
- The Player's Name will turn Red. This is to indicate that you have called the
player and he can play - in other words, the player is COMFIRMED in the lineup.
- Click on the X one more time if you want to remove him.
OR, drag and drop another player's name on top of the player
you wish to remove and he/she will be replaced.
What does Load Last Lineup do?
Load Last Lineup will stick the last lineup you played into the boxes
for this week. For example, if you are on Week 2, and you click Load Last
Lineup, the lineup from Week 1 will be copied into the boxes.
What does Clear Lineup do?
Clear Lineup removes all players from the existing lineup.
What does View Lineups do?
View Lineups will open another screen that allows you to quickly and
easily jump from week to week of the current season and see who played which position
without disturbing the lineup you are working on.
What is Player Availability?
To designate who is available and who is not available for each week of the currently
selected season, click on Player Availability
About Lineup validation for ALTA
- This does not apply to USTA - in USTA anyone can play any position.
- Tennis Captain enforces all of ALTA's sandbagging rules. If you have entered an
illegal lineup, you will receive a warning message each time you click the Save
button. Your lineup WILL be saved, but if you are getting the warning message, you
should validate with your division coordinator that your lineup is indeed valid!
- The sandbagging rules enforced by Tennis Captain are as follows:
- You cannot move a player more that 2 positions from the position he or she last played.
- You cannot move a pair more that 1 position from the position they last played.
- When moving a pair, you cannot move a losing pair above a winning pair. For
example, if the 1's won the last time they played together and the 2's lost, it would be
illegal to move the 2's to position 1 and the 1's to position 2.
Other Features
- Move your mouse on top of a player's name (once he is in the lineup) and his phone
number will pop up.
- Click on yellow question mark for help.
